From a young age, I was always rearranging my bedroom furniture, picking bold paint colors (some better than others, a sunshine yellow closet being the worst offender), and dreaming up new ways to make a space feel fresh. That creative spark has followed me through life, even if I didn’t know where it would take me at first.

I graduated from Miami University with a degree in marketing and graphic design and, like many of us, dove straight into corporate life. I bounced across industries trying to find my “thing”, starting out selling equipment to string up power lines (yes, really!), then spending nearly four years in fashion merchandising at Abercrombie & Fitch, where I fine-tuned my eye for color, trend, and storytelling. From there, I moved into insights and media sales, helping food brands grow their businesses at Kroger. While those roles built my creative and strategic foundation, something still felt missing.

Everything clicked when my fiancé and I bought our first home, a 1970s Tudor-style gem in need of love (and a lot of paint). We’ve DIY’d every inch, and I’ve loved every second creating mood boards, testing paint swatches, and obsessing over the details. It felt natural, exciting, and right.

As I shared our renovation on Instagram and TikTok (@kn_home_reno), I found a vibrant design community and realized how much I loved helping others bring their homes to life.
