HI, I’M KAYLA

I believe homes should support real life not perfection.

Long before I knew design could be a career, I was rearranging furniture, experimenting with paint colors (a sunshine-yellow closet remains my most humbling lesson), and instinctively trying to make spaces feel better to be in. At the time, I didn’t have the words for what I was doing. I just knew how much a room could change your mood - how it could calm you, energize you, or make you feel at home.

That instinct followed me everywhere. I spent years building a creative and strategic foundation across different industries, learning how to think critically, fine-tuning my eye for color, balance, and storytelling. Something still felt unfinished, like the work I was doing was missing a deeper sense of connection and purpose.

Everything clicked when my fiancé and I bought our first home: a 1970s Tudor-style house with good bones - full of character and in need of love. We renovated it on the weekends for a year. Hands-on. Imperfect. Full of paint and tile samples, mood boards and obsessing over the smallest details.

And I loved it.

The process felt natural. Grounding. Like coming home in more ways than one.

Sharing that journey online opened the door to something unexpected: a community of people who felt the same way about their homes. People who wanted spaces that felt warm, personal, and supportive of everyday life - not overly styled or “perfect”.

That’s where Willow & Fig Design Co. was born.

Through Willow & Fig, I help clients create homes that feel calm, cozy, and personal. Spaces that work with real life. Spaces that feel like a safe place to land at the end of the day.

Whether you’re furnishing a room, remodeling, or starting from scratch, my approach is grounded, thoughtful, and collaborative. I’m intentional with decisions and steady in my approach, guiding you through the process in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. My goal is for you to feel confident in your space and at ease the entire way.

I believe good design should feel natural.
Comforting.
Lived-in.

If that resonates, I’d love to work together.
